Certainly was back in the 70s when they and Petersons were the only practical reliable electronic tuners around. Would hate to go without my clip-on tuner though - amazed me at first that it tuned as accurately as any pedal or software I've used, even in a loud room where other instruments are playing full blast. I don't think that kind of microscopic accuracy is really necessary for anyone - I'd imagine that when you play the same chord/note twice, the difference in pressure you fret the string with probably makes a bigger difference in the pitch of that note than the level of accuracy that a good "normal" tuner can't give you. The best luthiers and repairmen use them. Peterson are _the_ name in top of the range professional strobe tuners (hardware). I'm not gonna PAY much for a 32bit anything at this point. But Ive got other things higher on my budget list right now.Įdit: Well the Peterson desktop version is still 32 bit and they want too much money for it. I generally don't plug in ANYTHING between my guitar and the pre, even IF it says TRUE BYPASS. As for polytune last I looked they wanted 100 clams. Peterson? That's one I'm not familiar with. If I was going to pay for a plugin tuner it would be the Peterson. ![]() If you don't already have a clip-on tuner, it's very much worth it - it's very accurate and comes with the plugin. ![]() It is what I use any time I want to tune in the box though but I got it free with the Polytune Clip (which is a superb clip-on tuner and switches between guitar and bass modes, as does the plugin). It's definitely not worth paying for the plugin, I didn't even know it could be bought. The fact it can tune all the strings at the same time blew my mind but I don't actually use the polyphonic feature at all. Does it play my parts for me to? It's polyphonic, I get it, but. I will also check out Polytune.Įdit: $50 for a vst tuner (Polytune)? Seems a bit over-the-top. But quick research revealed a 64 bit version available now so I will install that. I think it got passed over on this build because I was kind of trying to avoid anything 32 bit. Maybe there was a weird gain issue or something. But sometimes it's just quicker for me to keep it in the box.Īs for ReaTune, for some reason it was not being very responsive for me, especially if I drop-tuned or used a 6 string bass. And if you’ve read the reviews you’ll see that it is expected to be great. Thanks for the replies. (That’s where I’m at right now) I found this and it works as expected. (I’m a pretty lazy person when it comes to that sort of thing □) I wanted something that I could get while sitting in my bed under three thick blankets with my uke under my arm and my guitar in it’s huge black case visible in the corner of my eye. I have two electric tuners for both my uke and my guitar but I haven’t even put batteries in yet. This would be great if you were a musical prodigy that played 15 instruments and sang but I just wanted a tuner. I got this because the other apps that I had for these instruments took up way too much space because they also included TONS of lessons and songs for not only uke and guitar but other instruments I’ve never laid a finger on.
